So, I'm a new actor with a lot of passion and drive but very little experience (only did drama in high school and little practice on my own time, currently a senior). I'm doing an acting workshop this weekend and it's my first legitimate acting class, I'll be making my first acting reel in it. Besides my general nervou…

I know that EVERYONE whos into acting wants that, but im scared that i will waste my life trying to pursue something impossible.. I dont have the mo…

My wish is to quit school and hop into acting. I love this "job"! Currently, I live in Romania. Here the acting schools aren't so advanced, because the film industry isn't that WOW. We don't have such big and famous actors like the US does. I wanna leave Romania and fly to somewhere else. Does Europe have acting school…

Title! I’m not trying to brag or put the other actors down- I’m actually asking so I can be a better actor myself! I’m a professional actor, I’ve got reps, training, yada yada. I’ve seen the resumes/websites/reels of the other actors in this Shakespeare i was cast in, and they don’t have any classical training. To be c…

A few years ago I moved to a new country. Now I speak the language well enough, but my acting career has slowed down for obvious reasons. Through lucky circumstances I managed to book a meeting with an international film director from here (not for an audition or anything specific, just a meetup); so other than watchin…

29 y/o black male from Georgia I have been wanting to act over the last year or so, but since I didn’t start while I was a kid it’s to late. I’m turning 30 this year I just want to know do I still have a chance of making it BIG as an actor over the age of 30? If so where do I start? S/N: I notice the only actors that r…

Hi ! Not much to say, that’s my question, i’m doing some little research before writing my short film and how to work with actors. Thank you !

the examples he gave me were for really accomplished actors they represent, like people that have multiple series / recurrings / supporting roles in films opposite major stars.... ... and i don't have that yet. so my "accomplishments" would be training and student films... it kinda seems pathetic to write it like that.…

On November 5, 2007, the WGA strike was called, but our show did not shut down. Yes, the DGA (and Teamsters) had no-solidarity strike clauses in their contracts, but were supportive of the strike (many of the directors and producers were also WGA members). The strike called for writers to stop writing. Whatever had bee…

Hi actors, I just got an in person audition from my commercial agent and I'm excited/nervous, as this is my first in person audition since signing with them a year ago. Been mostly doing endless self tapes the past year! My question is-- if the audition on casting network just includes a brief description of the charac…

I'm 21 years old and I'm not sure where to start. Not originally from Vancouver but I moved here recently so I'm still learning the area. I've been told by a few professional actors that I'm naturally good at acting during a few extra roles that I did in the past. What are some ways that I can start acting or even look…

Hi everyone! I’m getting back into acting more seriously after taking an extended break during the pandemic. I’ve been taking classes but haven’t been working since then. Prior to the pandemic, I was working in Dublin and London in independent short films and smaller theatres, but would love advice on where to start in…

I’ve never seen this but I’m also a few months into AA so maybe it’s normal? I saw a role for a short film and liked the idea so I applied, got an eco cast and submitted my self tape. During this time, the casting director probably didn’t know how to use AA because I was getting multiple messages all saying the same th…

I greatly appreciate the success and progress I’ve made. I’m 33 years old and I started acting 5 years ago. Since then I’ve got an LA agent, booked 3 supporting roles in low budget feature films, booked 4 episodes in a low budget tv series, and became SAG eligible. Now I’m just not sure how to get to the next level. I’…

I know some scenes were shot without Ronald so that allows for retakes but how tf did they not break when interacting with him. If I had to do Noah’s “I’m a racist” scene or be the defendant’s attorney, I would have absolutely lost my mind the second I made eye contact with the other actors. I’m truly mind blown!

I feel like it was an open call but I have no fact. So an agent was probably possible for the few with more experience. I doubt it was on actors access though. Just curious.

They sent a message 10min past my scheduled time they were still with other actors and for me to be patient but sitting and doing nothing for close to 30 min seems like a waste of my time for something very small (small pay and a few lines). I know I wouldn’t mind if it was in person cause that seems to be the norm but…

As the title states. I am thinking of diving into CN and KR dubs of various media, as I am enjoyer of quality dubs regardless of language, and I am curious as to who are considered among the most popular VAs in those dubs across different age groups and experience levels. Many thanks in advance to those who can answer!

In the world of auditioning, no news is often the only news: If you don’t hear back, it means they went with someone else. While it would be great to receive closure via direct rejection, casting directors may not have the bandwidth to notify every auditioner who didn’t get a callback or book the part. They are also no…

This is something I've noticed lately on Actors Access and Backstage. Some breakdowns (mostly student films) will have age ranges of 20+ years, like from 18-40 or 25-50. I'm just curious as to the mindset behind this? I'd assume the casting director/whoever is casting would know the general age of the character they're…

What’re your thoughts on getting Botox for Elevens and the forehead? I’m a woman approaching my 40’s and thinking of getting it done to get a smoother forehead. But I don’t want it to adversely affect my acting. Has anyone done it? What’s been your experience?

Everything i read for is dramatic. Which makes sense, as that's how i've marketed myself thus far. But i'm trying to expand now. I'm pretty bored reading for procedurals. Hey all -Has anyone ever been in a similar situation?
