Hello, I've never really thought about joining any VA subreddits until now, lol. I follow my favorites on Twitter and such, but that's about it. I feel kinda dumb, Haha. Anyway, please bear with me. I have a dilemma. I want so badly to do voice acting. I recently took a college course for acting and I absolutely loved…

*This is al purely hypothetical and applies to future auditions and castings as well not just this particular one! I got an actors access audition for a very low budget & cheesy “scary” TV show. It doesn’t air on TV and is non-union. I watched a few episodes and the acting is pretty meh and I did some research on the a…

I signed up for online acting starting tomorrow. Is it normal when you read a monologue to sound stiff and fake? I haven’t memorized anything yet, but I’m worried that I won’t ever sound natural. I’ve never read a monologue or memorized or did anything having to do with acting before. Could practicing and learning real…

Hey guys, Since I'm stuck inside with no acting prospects on the horizon I thought it might be a good idea to learn up on some stuff. Does anyone know any free/cheap online courses or just anything that you think an actor should learn about? Cheers and I wish you all the best roles in all the best shows

Hello everyone, this question it's for a friend of mine, who sadly doesn't have documents in the US. He is from Spain and he has a good experience in acting, he is good looking and a great actor. I offered myself to help him, and the first thing that is essential, it's to get him sign up in an agency, he actually expla…

Since I began my VO journey a little under a year ago, I’ve always thought it would be interesting to break into anime dubbing with a company like Funimation. I understand that getting into anime dubbing is harder than it sounds and many young aspiring voice actors get into the business specifically because they want t…

I’m 16 and my dream is to act for a living. I don’t want to be an A list actor necessarily, but just get enough jobs to keep myself alive. I’m looking at colleges and have my dream ones. But the thing is, my dream of being an actor is a fairly recent one, only the last couple years. So I don’t have much experience to m…

Hey all, I hope you're well and safe. This seems like the worst time to be thinking about school, but with all the free time I have on my hands... I'm graduating (hopefully) in December from a Theatre BA program at a SUNY School. I definitely enjoyed my program- lots of good acting foundations, great singing training,…

So I am a 19 year old female. I wanted to be an actress since I was 7 but struggled with crippling anxiety until very recently, I basically figured out how to deal with it and I would say I have very little anxiety now. I design clothes and just opened a label that does VERY well. Dropped out of college because of it.…

Hello everyone! So basically I am pretty young, 15 years old. I discovered acting when I was like 12 and ever since I've wanted to become an actor. I want to go to college and study acting there. For some reason, lately, I have been feeling down about acting. Doing the work doesn't really seem fun. I still get that hin…

I have seen many posts and have noticed many scams in the acting business. It’s honestly really sad to see many people trying to scam clueless actors into their bs. Backstory: I’m a 15 year old with really nothing next to my name in acting, save for some leads in school productions, and I’d really wanted to become an actor until around 2 years ago. Hello everyone, I hope you are safe and healthy. So, I was wondering. How can international actors with no representation get into auditions in the first place. When an actor repped at a major agency (CAA, WME, UTA) is sent on auditions do the agents send the casting director a resume or do they just go in and audition with just a headshot. I would think that at that level, just being repped by one of them would suffice enough for a resume.

Hey I’m in nyc and am not an actor. However I’d really like to let loose with others and kind of go crazy. Not in a depressing serious way but in a fun silly funny way. I've recently come to the conclusion there are two types of actors.
