Hi all, I’m just curious about which country in the title is best for a working actor. I’m 20 and currently living in Australia, have only done some extra work, school productions and a handful of commercials, as well as attending some drama school auditions for what it’s worth. I have a British passport as well an Aus…

Apologies if posts like this have gone by a million times. I was hoping to find some sort of FAQs but apparently not! Or I missed it... I'm trying to upgrade from casual streamer to (at least semi-) professional voice actress with a few jobs lined offering scope for many more. With that in mind I need to upgrade by rec…

Hi all, I was wondering If I could ask a few questions about getting an agent. I am a 19 year old male. I know that they are the key to success in almost all cases. You get an agent, you get auditions. I'm just not sure how to go about getting one. I know they like headshots, demo reel, and a resume. I've got all these…

I don't want this post to get political in any way, but I was hoping to get some thoughts from some fellow Voice actors on Jenny Slate's decision on leaving the show Big Mouth because of her belief that Black characters in cartoons should only be voiced by other black people. I fear that this could set a dangerous pres…

I’m seriously considering getting into an acting career down the line. But even if I do grow really successful, the thought of such exposure and fame scares me. People will be super interested in my life and digging up all this information on me. I love the craft but man, being famous or even just a celebrity would be…

I am a working actor (NYC), and have always loved working with kids and the idea of being involved in children's television (as a host, or an actor, or a creator). I guess because of how big an impact PBS shows had on my lifetime. Does one just continue to audition and this is something that might eventually come up? O…

I am not a voice actor, or aspiring to be one, but I've had this question on my mind forever: To sync the visuals and the audio of a character talking, do the voice actors watch clips and sync their script to the animation, or do voice actors record the script and then the animators match the visuals to the audio? Or i…

I’ve found Meisner and Strasberg to be the most effective. I do like Stanislavsky and chubbuck But I’ve found I’m more of an impulsive actor. I like to go on impulse in the moment and use my inner dialogue, but I feel when it comes to characters sometimes I just need that extra work. I will do the script work and work…

So apparently you can only get an equity card if you're American, international actors can't get their equity card unless they have a green card.
