I got a callback for a chemistry read! Any advice going into this? There’s really no instructions so should I just be prepared with the audition piece or should I expect a new random read with the other actor? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I know it's an odd question but I'm in need of genuine advice here. Outside of some high school experience and a couple of plays in college, my acting resume looks rather barren. I really want to find work in film but my only experience performing on camera so far was in pornographic film. I know pornograp…

Hey friends! I'm excited to announce that I've set up an AMA with Mike Moreno, actor and host of the Actor CEO podcast, for this Thursday 10/29 at 8 PM EST. I reached out to him because we always hear the advice here to treat acting like a business in order to advance your career and make it sustainable but people don'…

Hi everyone! I'm REALLY hoping someone might be able to shed some light on an issues I've just started having with my Rode NT1-A and Focusrite 2i2 set up. Backstory: I was a part of an agency when I was a lot younger, but I left due to reasons. I’m doing theater at school, and I’ve done musicals pretty much every year, but I want to transition back into on camera acting. Should I wait until I become apart of another agency to make a social media profile for acting? Edit:…

Hi fellow actors! Need some motivation here. Pre Covid I started to finally book work, felt excited about where things were going, and after the pandemic happened everything feels different. I have no motivation and feel like things will never go back to how they were which makes me feel so discouraged. I used to inspi…

Hello, I’m looking for a pilot script writer that can properly format a pilot I’ve written for myself. I have 3 day jobs and don’t have the time to learn formatting techniques and I’m willing to pay you. Any services / references you like to I’d love to hear about! Thanks!

I've been hearing through the grapevines that a lot of theater actors have been doing Zoom theater (and also that it's obviously not ideal). I'm primarily a film actor, so I don't have many theater connections. I want to branch out into theater, but I don't see any auditions for theater productions on casting sites any…

Hello!. I have a quick question, so I just got a work permit fee from Actra on a recent set I’ve been on and I was wondering if I’m supposed to pay it or not since I’m a non-union actor. Or is that a permit for joining the Actra apprentice program since that’s what I got it with?

I have a limited series pilot and some actors in mind that I would be adding to my pitch deck. Because I am still in the pitching phase, I am fine getting just soft yeses. I’ve noticed that actors (often B or C list actors) lean away from using profanity on social media, and when videos get released about them indulging in substances such as cannabis, it’s often leaked and followed by a profuse apology explaining that it was a dumb, one time thing (When that probably isn’t the case). Hello! I’m an actress in the U.K. and have a couple of meetings next week with some American managers. Do you have any advice for what I should prepare? What’s good to wear, makeup, and what kind of questions may they ask? They are reputable with some pretty well known clients. Thanks so much!

Afterall most of the Oscar winners started in theater or do just as much live theater as they do in movies. It seems to me that many subpar performances get rave reviews by the general public simply because they like the character or liked the movie/show; and on the flip side, many great performances are overlooked simply because people didn't like the character, the person, or the movie/show. Like the term "amazing acting"…
